Raiders get an early start on the season
Aug. 26 (Bloomberg) -- The Oakland Raiders suspended linebacker Bill Romanowski from practice for one day and fined him an undisclosed amount for punching teammate Marcus Williams in the face during a fight on Sunday.<
Williams, a backup tight end, suffered a broken left eye socket and lost a tooth during the fight, which occurred during a team practice. He'll probably be out 4 to 6 weeks, coach Bill Callahan said.<

Get ready...
Ah, the sounds of grunting, sweating, 300-pound linemen... The shrill of the ref's whistle... The sight of all those Rams fans rooting through the paper bag drawer...
It's the sounds of August, and a sure sign that football season is on the way. And like the players, so to will the Gehlke Bros. be returning to the field in the weeks ahead.
