T.O. out for the season???
The Philly melt is looking meltier than ever with Terrell Owens possibly lost through the Stupor Bore. Leave it to Dallas to spoil an arch rival's season. The Eagles are talking a good game, saying that T.O.'s absence won't affect the team's chances all that much. I'll agree with that. Just confirms the likelihood of what I've predicted all along -- that they won't be on the field come Feb. 6.

I hate night games
I've said it before and I'll say it again now -- night football stinks! Monday night football in particular. Earlier this season I managed to break a 10-split losing streak on Monday nights when Dallas beat Washington on the road. I actually managed to win another Monday split two weeks later -- a mini streak if you will. But my luck in predicting Mondays has been woefully mediocre. Through 15 weeks I am just 7-8, which isn't much of an improvement over last season.
Night football seems to defy logic. Take two teams as mismatched as the Patriots and Dolphins were on paper and the result should have been Patsies by about 50. But of course the Dolphins escaped their defeat with a pair of touchdowns in the final couple of minutes, reminiscent of the Cowboys' win at Seattle a couple of weeks ago. I'm going to employ a new strategy: From now on I will pick the team I think should win the game and then will change my pick at the last second. Hey, I'd be just 8-7 right now, but that's a game better than 7-8!
The good news? Next Monday's contest between Philly and the Lambs is the LAST Monday night game of the season. Yeah!

Splitless
Hey, the NawFuL teams all get bye weeks, why can't the Bros.? Sean and I managed to agree on everything for a change. That's good, in a week when most of the games look pretty clear-cut. It's bad, however, in that any games we get wrong add up to missed opportunities to gain ground en route to the Surfy trophy. I'll maintain my precarious 1-game lead for at least another week. Last week's debacle in which I lost three out of four splits definitely was not good. Only way to combat that is by picking the winners, which we have always said is the Bros.' number-one goal.

Phantom Injuries???
Interesting. The 49ers finally found a way to bench ineffective Tim Rattay and Kevin Barlow with "injuries." Here's hoping the injuries are season ending so we can find out if the guys behind them can play. What else can you do when you're 1-11 besides evaluating talent for next year?
