One down, 255 to go

Looks like the Patriots are getting things started the same way they did last year, winning on opening night of the new season. The Raiders were inept, as usual. Only Ben went out on the proverbial limb, picking his favorite silver and black team "just to see how good they are." The Raiders played well for about 30 minutes, but the Pats played better for the entire 60.

There's something invigorating about the start of the new football season, when you can actually watch football on the tube and actually care about who wins and loses. So much better than baseball pennant races, but perhaps that's just my bias.

Still a lot of football left in opening weekend. The Bros. will have a full slate of picks on Sunday morning.
